Our weekend was just grand. Friday night, Davis and I headed out to our local library because they were having a book sale. We really racked up! We bought 26 books for just $17! He was beyond thrilled...tons of animal books. Most of all, loved the time w/ just him and I. We rarely get to have these outings with just us so it was such a nice treat. I think we looked through about 50 boxes to find the perfect books. We laughed, talked, and met lots of new faces. He has really grown up a lot since we've moved. Or, maybe it's that I am paying such close attention... either way, I absolutely love the little/ big boy he's becoming. What a joy!
Saturday, we all loaded up to what we thought was a super fun "fair!" You know- rides, cotton candy, etc..... Well, it was not exactly the real deal, but the kids loved the farm animals. I think we could have left miss carson there forever. She was in heaven. Maybe a future farmer of america? :-) It was a sweet little livestock show. One of Shane's co-workers and her family were showing an adorable calf. We did have a great time. It was a little hot & stinky for me...but, at least my georgia peach and homegrown peanut enjoyed themselves. After a super long day in the car, we came home for naps & hit the beach. We stayed out there until dark because the kids were having a ball! I didn't have my camera with us and I was so bummed b/c the lighting on the beach was beautiful. What a fun night of digging holes and making sandcastles. Today, we tried a new church and really enjoyed it! The kids did great in the nursery and they had fun playing with the other kids. We'll go back next week for sure! This afternoon, we let Davis skip his nap (big mistake tonight!!) and him and I had date #2 and spent all day at the pool. It was big fun & I'm so excited that he loves the water so much now.
Should be a pretty low-key week for us. Dad' back to work tomorrow...boo hoo and we'll find some fun things to do with our time. Love, us
