mr. hoppy, we'll miss you!
I took this picture today because this is our everyday lunch spot. Joining us everyday are two very adorable bunnies. Mr. Hoppy is our favorite because he comes the closest to the screen. We made up songs today and sang to him while we ate. Well, this afternoon we went to play out on the porch and Davis came running inside yelling, "Mama, Mr. Hoppy came to play and he is staring at me!" When I went to look at him, he was staring. Really hard. Not moving at all- ugghh. Poor little guy went to bunny heaven after being in an argument with an animal that appears to be more aggressive than he can be. I explained to Davis that Mr. Hoppy must be sick and that when daddy gets home he'll take him to the doctor. Then, I came inside and cried. Those who know me well know that I'm not an animal lover. I wouldn't ever hurt them of course, but I just don't get attached. But, Mr. Hoppy has been our buddy since we moved here. I giggle inside when I think about how truly sad I am that he won't be hopping through the grass and eating our leftover carrots. I was throwing a casserole together and could hear my sweet son... "Come on Mr. Hoppy, you'll feel better soon when my daddy gets home!" I'm so glad that I got this picture...and that he died among those who loved him the most.
RIP Mr. Hoppy. What a sweet & tender soul Davis has!
ReplyDeleteOh no, I did get the pleasure of meeting Mr. Hoppy and I must say...he was a cute little fellow. People say that lack of sleep is hard, but this part of parenting is the hardest to me.
ReplyDeletePoor Mr. Hoppy, I'm sorry to hear about his untimely demise. Unfortunately, Hailey has an older brother to explain the way things are...on our way to school one day last week Hailey said (very matter-of-factly) "that cat got squished". Aren't kids just the sweetest?
