Oh, Davis. Somehow he pulls at my heartstrings on a daily basis. His heart is bursting with love and cares so deeply for people. We went to Walmart this morning to shop for our christmas friend. We adopted a family with our sunday school class, and we were lucky enough to get a 4th grade girl. I was going to go tomorrow by myself, but decided to drag the kids with me today. How thankful I am that I made that decision. I called my mom when we left (in tears...) because the experience was awesome. Our trip started by dropping off change in the Salvation Army bucket. Davis screamed, "merry christmas" and then talked about what that money was going to buy someone....ice cream, a new toy, a ball, etc.
We found some perfect toys and clothes for our little girl. And more than that, we found the true meaning of giving. To be completely honest, I was a little apprehensive about adopting this year because money is slim. Like everyone else in the world, we're feeling pressures and stress of the season. However, the love and giving spirit of my three year old changed my heart today as well. Thank you, lord, for giving this day to us.
Thanks for your sweet post. Loved reading about your precious experience this morning!
