Davis and Shane have been working on a special project together. They have been planning and building a perfect birdhouse! This is kindof a little joke in our house, because one of mine and Shane's first dates was spent building a birdhouse in his parent's shop. I thought it was the strangest thing ever. Although, I really did love it! Davis loves to build and Shane loves to teach, so together they created a masterpiece. With a little bit of paint, their birdhouse will be ready to be occupied!
First, they drew their plan on paper.
Next, they built their "model home".
Then, they traced their model home onto the wood. (and believe me, it had to be perfect)
Next, we all watched daddy use the saw to cut the wood. It was loud!
Finally, we got to use the electric drill to put the birdhouse together!
Ta-Da.... here is our birdhouse! Complete with a front door...which I forgot to photograph.
Davis is having a hard time deciding on a paint color. Ha! Hopefully, it will be complete and ready to hang this week. What a fun project for the boys.
Some really lucky bird is going to have a great new home!
