no, not mines!

I'm all about recycling.  However, I'm pretty sure this cell phone still can be used a bit longer.
My cell phone has been missing for 2 days.  I saw it lying on the floor and thought to myself that I needed to put it up before it gets lost.  I didn't...and it got lost (or hidden!).  For two days, we've blamed sister.  "Carson, help me find mama's phone...  Carson, we know you hid the phone... Carson, I"ll give you a sticker if you find mama's phone..."  She replied,  "NO, not mines."  Which in her language meant that she wasn't holding it in her hands.  I still knew she was guilty.  I searched (or tore apart) this entire house.  Looked in all the strange places, the trash, etc.
This afternoon, I picked up this truck for the 10th time today to put it away.  As I did....out slid my phone!!!  I was so excited.  We don't have a home phone so I was feeling a little odd with no way of calling for help.  Davis sat in his chair as cool as a cucumber and said, "Oh mom, I was wondering when you would look inside of there!"  and laughed...  little stinker knew it was there all along.
We had to apologize to sister and indeed it was "not mines."  Poor gal, just because she is usually the sneaky fox.  It was a little refreshing to have Davis (mr. i love to do everything the right way) be the sneaky one this time!

  2. That is funny! Mallory is our little sneaky one always hiding things. It was my watch for several months that first went missing. Now it's my mouthguard I wear at night ($800 to replace) that is gone. We can't figure out where she has put it. Now I'll check Aubrey's garbage truck! (;
