art for the soul

Today was a little rough to be honest.  I cleaned up the house at lunch (after being on a manhunt for my cell phone!) and then decided it was a great afternoon for painting.  To be even more honest, this was really for me.  Painting is therapy to me.  And being in a quiet house listening to paint brushes and giggling is always good for my soul.  Such concentration on these little faces that I adore.

If you would be more creative stay in part a child, with the creativity and invention that characterizes children before they are deformed by adult society.’ — Jean Piaget
Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it.’ — Proverbs, 22:6
‘To stimulate creativity, one must develop the childlike inclination for play and the childlike desire for recognition.’  — Albert Einstein

‘Our greatest natural resource is the minds of our children.’  — Walt Disney
"Every child is born a genius.’  — Albert Einstein

We worry about what a child will become tomorrow, yet we forget that he is someone today. ~Stacia Tauscher

You are worried about seeing him spend his early years in doing nothing. What! Is it nothing to be happy? Nothing to skip, play, and run around all day long? Never in his life will he be so busy again. ~Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Emile, 1762
While we try to teach our children all about life,
Our children teach us what life is all about.
~Angela Schwindt

  1. I absolutely LOVE reading your blog! I can't tell you how much it has meant to me....I'm trying so hard to finish my dissertation and to know that I can peek at something as fun and heart-warming as your blog has helped me to get through this tough, and hopefully, last leg of my journey.
