the calm after the storm!

All of the stories you heard on the TV were absolutely true about this place (and MUCH worse in most towns away from the coast).  And, I'm beginning to think that our weathermen get paid the most, because they are typically correct about our weather.  Saturday was like a scene out of a movie.  I was a tad nervous for a little while.  Davis woke us up at 3:00 a.m. scared to death...we realized the power was out and the winds and snow were eerie sounding!  He crawled in bed with us to stay warm.  We woke up saturday morning and still didn't have power.  Thank goodness we have a wood burning stove AND that we stopped for firewood on Friday!  Go mama!
All day, the snow blew and fell very hard.  We finally got power back that afternoon and were very relieved to have some background noise and heat.  It was a fun saturday...we were very lazy and did lots of crafts to stay busy.
Today was a different day.  The blizzard didn't leave quite the mess that we thought it would.  The snow was actually beautiful and very deep in places.  We got out today and rode around Ocean City and came home to play this afternoon.  Shane is the "king of creating" so he put together a sled for the kiddos!
Our fingertips are starting to thaw out and we're staying in to watch the Superbowl (commercials!) tonight.
