easter weekend & picture overload

What a weekend jam packed with family time (& lots of photos to jog our memory of the fun we had!!).  It was a great one, despite the fact that we were away from Georgia on a holiday (which pretty much stinks, and I'm glad this is the only one!).  We really had a great time being together and the kids were quite sad when daddy had to go back to work this morning.
Friday started with date night!  Woo hoo.  Shane & I had the best time going out to dinner and to see a great band in Ocean City.
Saturday, we started our day at the circus.  We bought the cheap seats & had very low expectations of how the kids would do.  Our sweet son, Davis, is just a wee bit scared of lights, loud noises, the unknown... so the circus was a big step for him.  It took him a while to warm up, but then had a BLAST!  He'll tell you he never wants to go back....but, we secretly know that he enjoyed himself.  Carson loved it and clapped the entire show.  She liked the kitty cats on the tight rope the best.  There were some strange acts.  We went home for naps and then ended our day at the Spring Festival downtown Berlin.  Pig races, bunny pics, and more cotton candy filled the day.
Saturday night I had a talk with Davis about Easter.  I tried explaining to him the true meaning of this special holiday.  He didn't understand why Jesus couldn't just go to timeout and not die for our sins.  And thought it was pretty cool that he was magic and got himself out of the tomb.  Later, thanking God for his life.
Easter morning was so sweet.  Getting dressed up in our half spring/ half winter attire.  It was COLD!  So we had to put back the sandals and bring back the tights!  Davis was a little disappointed when we arrived at church and Jesus was not there to meet us face to face.  We were able to squeeze in a spot next to some friends that we've met...made it feel a little more like home.  Because He lives, I can face tomorrow...
We did a little dancin' on the boardwalk and ate a really fancy Easter lunch at 5 Guys!
The day got much warmer thank goodness.  I did some running on the boardwalk...all by myself in the sunshine.  Perfect naptime for this mama.  The kids snoozed and then we loaded up and headed for the beach.  Couldn't have asked for a better day with my family.

  6. What a GREAT weekend! Love all the sweet pictures, especially the one of the kids in the sand. I guess that there is no fear of Davis running off and joining the circus. And 5 Guys sounds like a great Easter lunch to me! :)
