The weather was so warm on Friday, so we took advantage and met some of our new friends at the Salisbury Zoo. I've mentioned this before, but it's the best zoo ever...and completely free. They are so kid-friendly and take so much pride in educating the visitors about their animals. We just love it. Ms. Monica, Tanner, and Mason were great company on this sunny day!
Here are a few of our very favorite animals. I remembered to take my zoom lens this time so Davis and I would have some neat pictures for our book we're making. Our very favorites are the sea otters & sloths, but they were not there friday.
We ended our visit with at the playground for a picnic. It was a great day!
Our weekend was very low key. The weather turned COLD (ugghh!) so we stayed indoors most of the time. I did have a little "accident" saturday. My faithful training schedule told me to run 10 miles on Saturday. So I got my frame of mind where it needed to be and hit the boardwalk early Saturday morning. I was having one of my best running days ever....and about 4 miles into it....BAM. I hit the sidewalk. Face first. Sliding for at least a few inches. I can still see myself going down in sloooow motion. I have no clue how it happened. Ouch. My road rash was/ is ugly and sore. I was completely fine, except for my pride (and 2 bloody knees and elbows). And wanted to punch the dummy on his phone who never said a word to me (i'm sure he laughed behind my back!).

what a lovely day at the zoo. sorry to hear about your tumble. after reading this post and Carolyn's recent post about a similar fall, I'm pretty sure I should stick to my no running rule...lol! hope you were able to pick yourself up and get right back into it.
ReplyDeletesee you soon, sweet friend! hugs & kisses to davis & carson!
