celebrating daddy!

Celebrating Father's Day all weekend long is our plan.  A fun day at the beach and some time for the superhero in our home to fish, relax, and enjoy being a daddy!  It was a great day.  It is funny how our days in Maryland are all starting to look alike now.  I feel like we've seen most everything that was on our list and now it's a matter of counting down the weekends until we're back in Georgia! We're soaking it all in while we can...
Shane is really an amazing father.  I'm quite sure he gets better and better everyday....and wasn't sure that was possible.  He's not the man he used to be.  Well, deep deep down he is....but now he is all of that "craziness" and more.  So tender.  So caring.  So giving.  So attentive.
Davis and Carson are so lucky to have him.
If I had to guess what these two are smiling about, I'd say he was telling her she is safe.  And it's ok to be in the water.  And he is asking her about her day at the beach.  She is completely smitten for her daddy.  He's replaced me in the nighttime routine.  He now "rubba me back" and gets to sing "You are my sunshine."
Makes me a tiny bit sad, but absolutely love it for them.
This boy makes his daddy super proud.  He's a great listener and Shane really loves teaching him.  He is truly a mini-Shane.  This relationship- between father and son- is like no other.  They "get" each other and have their secret winks and codes.
And because we love that Shane makes us comfy at all times, I had to photograph our little princess on her throne!  (who magically decided that she likes big girl panties!)
Happy Father's Day, Shane.  You really are one of a kind.  Can't wait to serve you breakfast and give you your "super powers" box tomorrow!  I borrowed this idea from a coupon blog I read and it was the easiest and cutest idea.  It's a "Our Dad is our Superhero" box...snacks & stuff with fun labels with the Superhero theme.  So cute!  Hurry, you can make one too!
P.S...Davis wants to know when we celebrate "Son's Day!"
