My 6 favorite highlights from today...
1. Davis waking up with the chickens at 6 a.m. Dressed & ready for "the big sale!"
2. The 8 carloads of people that showed up before 7:00 a.m. and the big sale didn't start until 8.
3. 90% of the items were sold before 8:30 when sleeping beauty decided to wake up.
4. Me & my boy playing putt-putt for the first time to celebrate our successful yard sale.
5. Meeting (yes, meeting...) my grumpy old neighbor for the first time. The same one that used a broom to get all the snow off his driveway and never ever looked up to say hello. He was actually nice.
6. Daddy letting the kids go to Walmart and pick out something for their hard work today.
Davis...etch-a-sketch & Carson...a new bathtime barbie.
Great yard sale. We were completely sold out by 9am! Seriously.
So fun and now our house is empty and the stress level just lowered a few notches.
Off to enjoy our last 6 days here in this ever-so-hot state of Maryland!

woot woot!!! what a loot! i am so impressed! fabulous about being sold out by 9:30...guess shane got those signs in the right places!!!!
ReplyDeletepssssh....laura, i know you'll read this. they don't need no coins to make the six - dollar bills y'all! hee hee - kidding of course! (and please read that with the appropriate accent so you really don't think i use "don't need no" regularly!)
ReplyDeletejust how I pictured that 6! love that your yard sale was a quick success! and how much fun was that mini golf trip? maybe we can visit the one in helen when you guys return.
ReplyDeleteloved hearing what the kids picked out too...jack got a hand me down etch a sketch from his cousin and I had forgotten how much fun they were. thinking you & davis could use it to make a number (although 5 might be tricky) surely you could make a 4 with it though!!
okay and I'm laughing out loud too at the thought of shane and the kids laying around making numbers with their bodies!!
just had an idea for 5...now it wouldn't follow your pattern of using the actual number, but how about davis' or carson's hand print (five fingers)? if you've packed up the art supplies you could do it with water on the sidewalk or maybe in the sand or dirt...or use the hand or foot prints to make a 5 on the paper or sidewalk.
can't wait to see what you come up with!!
