We were leaving the zoo today, and this nice young man offered to give the kids animal stamps on their arms. This nice young man was a volunteer at the Salisbury Zoo and he was super fun! He was also very very "decorated" with tattoos. We loaded up in the car and headed home. This is when Davis usually asks one millions questions and gets mad when the radio is up loud because he likes to talk...a lot.
D: "Mama, what kind of stamp did that man have on his arm?"
M: "That was not a stamp, that was a tattoo.
D: "oh, what is a tattoo?"
M: "When someone chooses to have permanant art work on their body. It cannot wash off or be removed. You have to be 18 to get one, son!"
D: "but that's nasty because markers are for paper only. not your body". (or in his case, the carpet)
M: "When you get older, you may not think it's so nasty."
D: "I mean mama, it's not nasty like throw up, it's just wierd." "But, when i get like Daddy's age, I'm gonna get a train "tattpoo" so it can go up and down my arm when I'm driving."
M: "wow, that would be a very long tattoo. Are you sure you'd want one like that?"
D: "no mama, that would be silly." and he laughs hysterically....
I didn't have the heart to tell him that about 80% of my friends have body art and that his mama is a big chicken or else I may have jumped on the wagon too...
this is awesome! love the things he comes up with!
