Ice, Ice Baby...

On saturday, we took the kids to the Carosel Hotel for some ice skating.  It was a riot and proved that I was indeed out of shape.  After 20 minutes of lessons with Davis, I was ready to strip down to nothing.  It was so much fun and he did great.  They have these funny walkers for the kids to use.  It took us twenty minutes to go around the rink twice.  He was so proud of himself, however thought..."this is a lot of work!"  I agreed with him.  After I dropped him off on the sideline to join his candy- cotton- eating- sister, I was back on the rink for my free skate session!  I was glad our photographer was there to capture the moment.  My lesson of the day:  He trusts me.  He knows I won't let him fall, and if I do...i'll pick him right back up.

  1. How fun! Ice skating is hard work though, Davis is right!

  2. So cute! Although it's different from ice skating, one of mine & Josh's favorite things about snow skiing is how much it wears you out! You're freezing and sweating at the same time and starving when you head in for the day...and you get some of the best sleep! Any chance you'll make ice skating part of a new workout routine?

  3. Some of our favorite memories are of ice skating with Aubree....there aren't many things that Danny can't do...but ice-skating is one of them...the skates make his feet feel like the blade is coming through his shoe, cutting his feet in half....it's great your children are learning how to do this while they are young....enjoy the moments! I'm working on setting up a blog...just figuring out how to do the backgrounds has been lots of fun!
