I love my Davis. I love that he asks one million questions over and over again. I asked him if he wanted to call Nana today and tell her Happy Memorial Day. He said, "Why". And then proceeded to ask what the holiday meant. I was explaining that this day is to remember the men and women who have fought and continue to fight for our freedom. And that because of these very brave soldiers we are able to be free in our country. He piped up very quickly and said, "Yes, Mama.... like when you get all your free stuff!"
I guess being drug from store to store with coupons in tow has made an impact on him after all!
I am thinking by next year he'll be able to witness a memorial day service and have some understanding. Until then, we'll let him think it's good to be free...or get free stuff.
