While my sweet mother was in town, Shane & I took an overnight trip to Annapolis. What an awesome night! We got there around noon and had a yummy lunch downtown & went into the cute little shops. We just walked and talked about our future with our little family. For some reason, this was the first time in four years that I could sit and talk to Shane about the future without being in tears. With having small children, I often feel like my brain is constantly foggy and couldn't see past today. Maybe because my job as a mother is getting slightly easier. My big girl in panties and my big boy who wants to read are growing up rather quickly before my eyes. Whatever the reason for this unfogginess feeling (i made up that word), I like it. I loved that I didn't get frustrated talking about earning my specialist degree and I actually see that as a possibility now. Shane is so good about looking ahead & thinking about what's best for our family & I'm the opposite. With that being said, I think it's a good balance.
That night, we went on a sunset sailing cruise down the Chesapeake. It was incredibly beautiful...the sailing capitol of the world has won our hearts. We loved seeing the Naval Academy and the beautiful scenery up and down the bay. The crew was young & just so fun! It was a great night- just the two of us.
sounds and looks like a perfect getaway. btw, you look great in that blouse...totally beachy and beautiful. see you soon!
