just us...freezing by the sea

We're here....and freezing our booties off. Apparently, this is some crazy cold snap that we're hoping will go away quickly. For you georgia folks too! We're here unpacking and trying to get back to a semi-normal routine. Toys are overflowing our small rental house, but thank goodness it just doesn't matter and we'll be thankful we have things to keep us busy this winter.
Our trip up here was quite eventful. Not only did we have to rent a Uhaul to bring back our christmas gifts and clothes, but our car was packed to the ceiling. A little embarrasing. We left bright and early and arrived just 13 long hours later. Sister survived...or better yet, we survived her. She did really well considering. We took lots of breaks and brought plenty of entertainment.
Once we arrived at the Bay Bridge tunnel we knew we only had a couple of more hours to go. We were excited! Until they told us we couldn't take the Uhaul across because of a wind advisory. Yikes. We had two choices. Leave it there until the next day or stay in a hotel (no thank you!). So, we bought some locks and more junk for the kids at Walgreen's and left our stuff there. We didn't give a hoot at this point, we just wanted to be HOME! We arrived at our house to find the heat no working and the breaker flipped on our fridge. So, everything was cold in the house and warm in the fridge. gross... Sunday brought better luck as Shane picked up the Uhaul and the kids and I got adjusted to being back in Maryland.
We're excited to start our lives here again. Shane surprised me with a gym membership so that will be a great way to get back in shape and for us all to have a break. Although, Davis has told me time and time again that he doesn't want me to get skinny. Ok, for you son I won't! ;0) We started back at Story hour today and met some new moms and kids. Things are looking up! We will be here until July and then the kids and I will come home to start school. Until then, my plan is to enjoy them. The funny things they say and milestones they hit as we're home together!
